SERVICE

Marist JCL

OUR LOVE OF SERVICE

Marist School holds its students to the highest expectations regarding community service, and we are proud to say that Marist's JCL is no different.

Below are some examples of our annual service projects!

MYTHOPALOOSA

Every year, Marist Latin students look forward to Mythopaloosa: an all-day event where our very own Latin students have the opportunity to teach mythology and guide younger students through fun myth-related activities!

Where is it?

We host the event on campus, where kids from Path Academy, St. Jude Catholic School, and the Reach for Excellence program meet at Marist.

What happens during Mythopaloosa?

Upon arrival, students are divided into small groups led by Myth Mentors (Marist high schoolers dressed up as one of the Olympians). From there, every group's Myth Mentor leads their group through quizzes, certamen, and games to strengthen the students' grasp on mythology.

We taught students about ancient beginnings and had such an amazing time!

LATIN MASS

Missa Latina-3.jpg

Every Wednesday morning, Marist students gather for mass before school.

But once a year, the Marist JCL leads a special mass conducted entirely in Latin that is celebrated by not only Latin students, but teachers, staff, and parents too.

This annual event is a wonderful opportunity to discover the beauty of traditional Latin masses!
