Marist JCL
Events
This page is organized by month, with a short description of each event. For more details on our most prominent events, see the subpages of this page.
Year-round, Marist Latin students are enthusiastic and excited for the next thing to participate in! Our events encourage everyone in the JCL to get involved by singing, baking, creating, learning, and competing.

Enjoy!

October
The Read-a-thon is our annual service project to raise money to provide Latin students around the state with book prizes and test materials.

Fall Forum was hosted at Wheeler High School in Marietta, GA. Our JCLers loved taking national exams and playing friendly rounds of Jeopardy and Certamen with other high schoolers!

Our LHS Induction Ceremony celebrates 10 Latin students for their hard work, by rewarding them with a place in the Marist Latin Honor Society.

december
This winter, the weather got cold quickly, which is the perfect weather for
Cocoa and Carols. Early in the chilly morning, Latin students greet the incoming students outside with hot chocolate while singing Latin Christman carols.

January
Our annual Bake Sale was the perfect way to kick off 2020! This year we made and sold pizzelle* and gained around $200; more money than we've ever made before.
*Pizzele: traditional Italian waffle cookies. They are delicious with powdered sugar and chocolate sauce!

April
We are so excited for Virtual State Convention this year! We were once state champs and we intend to retake that title. Even with COVID-19 affecting our school year, it didn't stop our Latin students from giving 110% in their graphic and creative arts. Our goal: to win in as many categories as possible and to beat our score last year!
