Mt. Vesuvius

The Eruption

Every year, on the lovely morning of September 28th, the Marist JCL celebrates the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius-- with cake!

This annual production is reenacted by Latin students and is performed in the center of campus, where all can see.

The Marist JCL made Mt. Vesuvius (tiered chocolate cake) erupt with lava (orange and red frosting), ash (powdered sugar), and boulders (crumbled Oreos and chocolate chips) in real-time during the performance. After the final bow, all students and faculty are welcome to have a piece of cake!
